Join Tzedek Hillel on an unforgettable volunteer mission to Uganda, Africa. Participants will be involved in various projects sponsored by the American Jewish World Service (click here for more information) for either two or four week periods. Past volunteer projects have included planting, digging ditches for latrines or the laying of water lines, and working in an arboretum designed to counteract deforestation.
As a group, participants and staff study social justice and international development through a Jewish lens. Throughout the trip, they plan a meaningful Shabbat experiences that highlight the challenges and rewards of a pluralistic Jewish community. This intensive service experience lays the foundation for future follow-up activities, from sharing your experiences in the developing world with others upon your return home, to committing to advocacy and activism in Canada.
